There doesn't really seem to be anything out there that compares with Imzy at all.

I've tried a few other sites but they're all a bit meh.

Have you tried Campfire? If you have, it's still in alpha, so user input is a very important thing.

I've been using Campfire, too. Agreed with wolfpurplemoon, what they've done so far is impressive and everyone is open and enthusiastic. But it's super tiny still, so there's a way to go. ☺

I also hated the idea of the Lets Grab Coffee discord server when I first joined in November, but it's actually really nice as there's quite a few people from all over the world and it's fine to just lurk and comment occasionally :)

Yeah, it's live chat. People just tend to leave it open and talk or post links throughout their day.

It seems that Imzy's shutdown has caused everyone to go in so many different directions that if you want to keep in touch with people you need to keep track of a lot more sites than before :(
