3 for the Memories is an annual community opening on January 3, 2022 and running until January 24. Its purpose is to share photos that each member has taken during the prior year. This might be the 3 photos that they feel best encapsulate their year, or are simply the ones they most wish to share by whichever criteria they choose. Anyone can participate by just joining the community.

Rules

1) Three photos only per person during each annual session. Members are encouraged to discuss the reason for their choices.

2) Photos can be hosted at Dreamwidth or elsewhere, and should not be larger than 800 px width or height.

3) All three photos should be in the same post. Cut tags should be placed after the first photo.

3 for the Memories is not a competition, and entries are not being judged. Rather, participants are encouraged to share photos they find meaningful in some way as a form of sharing different experiences with one another. If you have any questions, visit our masterpost and ask away!

I'm pleased to announce that thecookbook has made the move to Dreamwidth. I've imported and back-dated all of my old posts from the Imzy data export. Hope you'll all join me in posting recipes old and new.

If anyone was a member of One Dead Plotbunny, the writing/project-finishing community, it actually spawned off of [community profile] onedeadplotbunny, which has been very active on DW for a few years.

(And if you're new to it, welcome!)

I created a Dreamwidth mirror for the Imzy [community profile] womenshockey community. I'll be moving posts over this week. Feel free to peek in if you're interested.

Harry Potter Guide to Self help written over Harry Potter books.
Hey everyone! Riddikulus has relocated from imzy to dw as [community profile] expecto_patronum! We are a Harry Potter complete read through book club. We finished Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets shortly before imzy announced it's closing, and the new reading schedule will be up soon. We hope to see new and old members there!

My little comm is very niche, but I thought I'd pimp it here anyway. The original comm was on lj, but I wasn't the original owner, I inherited it. I made the mirror over here when the tos thing happened and I've been running both here and on Imzy concurrently, though I posted differently on each.

But yeah, the Euro leg of the tour is over, waiting on news for the next legs. Two new videos should be shot soon.

Here are some comms I am in. Feel free to comment with existing DW comms to recc!

* Fancake - Weekly themed fic recs.

* Fandom Weekly - Weekly short fic challenges

* ONTD Creepy - The DW spin off of the Creepy spin off of ONTD. They've recently jumped to DW from LJ and still have weekly FFAs. If you like horror and/or creepy stuff, join us for FFAs on Saturdays or make individual posts yourself.

* Buckaroo Banzai - Of course I am recreating my comm for an obscure 80s cult classic. I'll run it whether or not it gets an audience, because I can treat it like a wiki. I also may be doing a big project that will make use of such info, and it's a good place to collect it. (I've not done set up on it at all yet, I just made it so I could link it.)

Comms to check out later:

* My favorite comm around here is Get Your Words Out. It's writer's support and discussion group with regular Word Wars, but they only open membership around the end of the year. It functions as year long challenge and the format works, even if it makes it hard to recc ;)

* Fandom Stockings - I love this comm. Around the holidays they hang 'stockings' for people so they can be filled with reccs, doodles, short fic, etc. It's a clever idea that makes good use of the way this site works. You can contribute with creative stuff or with non-creative stuff. It's no-stress feel-good fun. I am currently doing daily doodles so I can do more for the next round.

Since [personal profile] wolfpurplemoon encouraged us to promote communities that also existed on Imzy, I thought I'd do this as well. (I did make a post on Imzy itself but it can never hurt to do so again here, so here we go.)

I used to run the Sir Patrick Stewart community on Imzy, and I also run a Sir Patrick community here. I created it shortly before I knew Imzy was shutting down but hey, it's here, and it's basically the same as my Imzy community, with the latest Sir Patrick news and pictures.

It can be found here: [community profile] sirpatrickstewartnews

So, if you like Sir Patrick, feel free to join. You don't have to be a super fan or anything, it's a community for everyone, casual fans and not-so-casual fans, everyone is welcome and ALSO welcome to post/comment/participate!

Hi everyone :) I used to be kthxy on Imzy and I'm still getting used to Dreamwidth.

One of the communities that I co-led over there was /binding, a place to discuss chest binders without gatekeeping.

[personal profile] diybinding, who founded the community on Imzy, now created [community profile] diybinder to have a replacement here, yay :)

Come join it if you want.

The other community that I co-led was /messy_bullet_journal, and currently I'm not planning to make a replacement for it because of limited spoons and such. If anyone else feels like doing that, feel free to start it yourself, copy & modify any descriptions if you want, and let me know so I can join :) There is already [community profile] bujo on here though, which seems like a great place as well.
[personal profile] misbegotten
Heya Imzynauts. I'm @misbegotten on Imzy, mod of /100words, /introvert, /karlurban, /mystery, /pittsburgh_penguins, /sleepless, and /sorkinverse. I just wanted to say hullo to fellow DW users.

/100words is mirrored at [community profile] 100words, if you like a weekly dose of microfiction on your reading list. I post a prompt every week, and people respond with original or fan fiction that is exactly 100 words in length.

What are you going to miss the most about Imzy, besides the people? I'm going to miss the ability to schedule posts!
